Super Bowl Food Ideas

I love the Super Bowl especially because it gives me a reason to make some good food. Here are some ideas for you. I am also making Stromboli and that recipe is in a previous post.

Taco Dip
Layer the following in order on a large platter
1-16ounce can refried beans
1 pint sour cream
1 small carton avocado dip
1-16 ounce jar of picante sauce
½ pound shredded cheese
Garnish with black olives
Cover and refrigerate.

Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball
1-8 ounce package cream cheese
½ cup butter (no substitutes) softened
¼ teaspoon vanilla
¾ confectioner sugar
2 tablespoons brown sugar
¾ cup miniature semi sweet chocolate chips
¾ cup finely chopped pecans
Graham crackers
In a mixing bowl, beat cheese, butter and vanilla until fluffy. Gradually add sugars, beat just until combined. Stir in chocolate chips. Cover and refrigerate for at least two hours. Place cream cheese mixture on a large piece of plastic wrap and shape into a ball. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Just before serving, roll cheese ball in pecans. Serve with graham crackers.

Warm Pizza Dip
1 (8oz) container whipped cream cheese
2 cups Mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 tsp. Italian seasoning
1 cup marinara sauce
1 (2 ½ oz) pkg. pepperoni, chopped
Spread cream cheese on bottom of a 9 inch round baking dish. Top with layers of marinara sauce, cheese and pepperoni in given order. Sprinkle Italian seasoning over top. Microwave on HIGH 3 to 5 minutes or until heated through. Serve with tortilla chips.

Pretzel Turtles
1 bag pretzels
1 bag Rolo’s Candy
1 bag M&Ms Candy
Place pretzels on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper. Place a Rolo on the top of each pretzel. Bake at 350 for 4 minutes. Remove from oven and place an M&M in the center of each Rolo. Let cool completely and then remove from wax paper and enjoy!
